Nebula Iris

Combining macro and infinity can have interesting results beyond any I imagined. Using a divide blending mode made the iris a part of the distant nebula background. This image was built from multiple star fields, nebulas clouds created from photographing smoke, plus starbursts, supernova, and other space elements I’ve created over the years.

It is hard to calculate the number of layers since multiple layers have been combined to form more complex elements, but this image consists of more than fifty. Many layers are low opacity which gives a feeling of infinite depth.
